Overview
The Remington 700 BDL is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .270 Winchester, produced by Remington Arms since 1962. The BDL (Better Deluxe Grade) is the upscale trim of the Model 700 line, distinguished by a high-gloss American walnut stock with a Monte Carlo comb, raised cheekpiece, black fore-end cap, and fine cut checkering, paired with a deeply blued action and barrel. Its 22-inch barrel and flat-shooting .270 Winchester chambering make it a longtime favorite for big-game hunting, delivering excellent reach and downrange energy. The action uses Remington's signature cylindrical receiver with dual-opposed locking lugs, a recessed bolt face that fully encloses the cartridge head, and a hinged floorplate over the 4-round internal magazine. Weighing roughly 3.4 kg, the BDL balances field portability with the heft needed to tame recoil during precise shot placement. For more than six decades the 700 BDL has been one of America's best-selling and most respected sporting rifles, prized for its accuracy, reliability, and classic deluxe styling.

Notes
The BDL designation stands for Better Deluxe Grade and represents the high-end factory trim of the Model 700 sporter line, sitting above the plainer ADL grade. Offered in numerous chamberings; the .270 Winchester configuration listed here uses a 22-inch barrel. Equipped from the factory with iron sights (hooded ramp front, adjustable rear) and a drilled-and-tapped receiver for optics.
Background
The BDL grade gave the Model 700 its iconic profile, the glossy walnut, black fore-end cap, and white-line spacers that became a defining look of American sporting rifles through the latter half of the 20th century. Generations of hunters cut their teeth on a 700 BDL in .270 Winchester, a pairing so common it became shorthand for the all-around North American big-game rifle.
