Overview

The Barrett MRAD ELR (MRADELR) is a bolt-action, extreme long range precision sniper rifle chambered in the powerful .416 Barrett cartridge. Built on Barrett's Multi-Role Adaptive Design (MRAD) platform, it pairs a 36-inch match-grade, hand-lapped stainless steel barrel with a modular upper receiver and user-changeable barrel system, allowing shooters to tailor the rifle for extreme distance engagements. Features include a 60-degree bolt throw for rapid cycling, tool-less quick-change firing pin and bolt head, an adjustable single-stage trigger module, an extended top rail with built-in elevation, a high-efficiency three-port muzzle brake, and a fixed stock with push-button height adjustment and a locking polymer cheek piece. The .416 Barrett chambering makes the MRAD ELR capable of reaching well beyond typical sniper engagement ranges.

Notes

Barrett offers the MRAD ELR with Flat Dark Earth, Tungsten Grey, or Black Cerakote finishes. The single-stack polymer magazine holds five rounds of .416 Barrett. The 24.63-inch top rail is machined with 10 mil (MOA) of built-in elevation to support extreme long range dialing.

Background

The .416 Barrett was developed by Chris Barrett as a high-ballistic-coefficient necked-down offshoot of the .50 BMG case, giving the MRAD ELR flat trajectories and wind resistance suited to precision shooting at distances measured in kilometers rather than meters.
