Overview

The Baikal MP-155K is a Russian gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, developed by the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (part of the Kalashnikov Concern) and presented in 2014. Derived from the MP-155 hunting shotgun, it is a tactical, detachable box-magazine variant created to compete with Turkish semi-automatic shotguns and the Saiga-12 on the American market. It uses a self-adjusting annular gas piston around the barrel, feeds from a proprietary single-stack five-round magazine accepting both 70mm and 76mm Magnum shells, and pairs an aluminum-alloy receiver with polymer pistol-grip furniture, an integrated Picatinny rail, and AR-pattern adjustable sights.

Background

The MP-155K was unveiled in 2014 as IzhMekh's answer to the booming market for magazine-fed tactical shotguns, taking the proven self-regulating gas action of the MP-155 hunting gun and rehousing it in a short-barreled polymer pistol-grip package with a detachable box magazine and a flat-top Picatinny rail.
